Zinc Oxide | Zinc Oxide | A fine powder that provides a physical barrier that is 28 times the skin's natural protections against harmful UVA & UVB rays. Because it is inorganic and inert it is non-irritating and safe for sensitive skin. The Zinc Oxide that Bunny’s Bath uses is a very small micro-particle form so it is transparent in products and does not leave a white color on the skin. Although the particles are small enough to be non-whitening in products they are not so small that they are in the nanoparticle range. We avoid using nanoparticles because of health risk concerns that have been raised if the very small particles were to enter the human body. Zinc oxide is also a perfect ingredient for natural deodorant. It reacts with short fatty acids responsible for underarm odor and converts them to odorless zinc salts. It is more effective than the traditional Aluminum Chlorhydrate at inhibiting odor producing bacteria growth in sweat. |
